In some production situations, special pipe fittings are required, which are used, as a rule, in the chemical, food, energy, paper and mining industries. One such product is the GS2 hose valves. They are used for large transportation lines, in which the diameter of the pipes is 250, 300, 350 mm. They can be used in systems operating under low pressure, not exceeding 2.5 atmospheres.
It is worth noting that hose valves operate on the same exact principle as standard shut-off and control valves - the mechanism changes the valve flow area until it is fully opened or closed, depending on the production need and the state of the line.
Unlike standard metal valves, the hose mechanism does not come into contact with the working medium. This effect is achieved thanks to the elastic sleeve, which is located in the valve body. The working medium passes through it and does not come into contact with the valve stem and body. This is why hose valves have proven their worth in conveying bulk solids, pastes, powders, sludges, grains, slurries, liquids, gases and acids.
Hose valve (gate valve) GS2 - description and characteristics
The valve body is available in cast steel, stainless steel, cast iron and aluminium. At the same time, the sleeves in the hose valves are not metal. They are rubber, neoprene, viton, nitrile, silicone, butyl or hypalon. Industrial valves of this type are manufactured in accordance with EN 10204 3.1.B and 2.2 certificates.
