Thermodynamic disc steam traps.
Thermodynamic disc steam traps are a simple and inexpensive type of steam trap. It has only one moving part, the disc, which ensures extremely reliable and long-term operation of MIYAWAKI thermodynamic steam traps.
Thermodynamic steam traps are designed for equipment with low and medium condensate flow: steam pipe drainage, small heat exchangers, equipment heating, autoclaves and other equipment in the petrochemical, chemical, textile, food, pharmaceutical and other industries.
Thermodynamic disk steam trap Applicable to equipment with small and medium condensate flow, such as steam drainage, small heat exchangers, equipment heating, autoclaves and other equipment in the petrochemical, chemical, textile, food, pharmaceutical and other industries. A simple and inexpensive type of steam trap that has only one moving part - the disk, which ensures reliable and long-term operation of MIYAWAKI thermodynamic steam traps. The disk is removable and can be replaced if necessary, allowing the steam trap to remain in the steam line.
The disc and seat of MIYAWAKI thermodynamic steam traps are made of hardened stainless steel. The disc surface undergoes strict grinding quality control, which ensures long and reliable operation.
MODELS MIYAWAKI THERMODYNAMIC STEAM TRAPS
- S31N - malleable iron with interchangeable parts;
- SC, SF - made of gray cast iron for high capacity installations;
- SC31 - stainless steel with interchangeable internals;
- SD1, SU2N, SU2H - stainless steel for medium and high pressure;
- S55N, S55H, S61N, S62N - forged steel for high pressure;
- SV - with built-in bypass, for use in the food and pharmaceutical industries;
- The SL3 is a lightweight and compact steam trap for low capacity installations.
SPECIFICATIONS
- Fast removal of condensate;
- Resistance to water hammer, superheated steam, and freezing;
- Most models are equipped with bimetallic rings, which contribute to the rapid removal of air and cold condensate in starting modes, prevent the occurrence of air locks during operation;
- Possibility of installation in any position;
- The steam traps are equipped with an additional thermally insulated cover for greater stability and increased steam savings;
- The presence of a built-in filter (except for the SL3 model).
PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION

- At start-up, the pressure of cold condensate and air raises the disk and quickly removes them;
- When hot condensate enters, the trap remains open and rapid condensate removal continues;
- Hot condensate is followed by steam entering the steam trap. As the speed of the medium increases, the vapor pressure under the seat and disk drops, and the pressure in the chamber above the disk increases. As a result, the disc is pressed against the seat and the valve closes;
- The steam trap remains closed until the steam inside the chamber above the disc condenses. The condensate enters the trap and the temperature drops, the steam inside the chamber condenses. As a result, the pressure of the incoming condensate lifts the disk and the condensate is drained off. Steps 2, 3 and 4 are repeated.
